Like Barbaresco, Barolo is made from Nebbiolo, but here the grape has more power. The soils of Barolo are less fertile lending to a more tannic wine. 2016 is considered a classic vintage, a vintage able to be cellared. To be Barolo, the wine must be aged 3 years with at least 18 months in oak.
Barolo carries all the markers of Barbaresco yet these characteristics are amped. This wine will unfold in your glass. When drinking at home, decant and allow the wine at least 3 hours of air for the aromas and flavors to fully develop.
